I’M CONCERNED

Mar 17, 2026 | Articles

Hope is anchored in Christ. And when it is anchored in Christ, it stands

Concerned at the quiet drift,
the slow fade of conviction,
the subtle trade of Scripture for sentiment.

I’m concerned about the number of Christians
who are abandoning the faith,
the truth of the Holy Scriptures,
not because Christ has failed them,
but because people, mentors, leaders, and even politicians have disappointed them.

I’m concerned that disillusionment with men
has turned into distance from God.
That frustration with denominations, groups, and political parties
has become frustration with Truth itself.

I’m concerned that we no longer weigh the issues,
no longer ask where these platforms are leading us.

I’m concerned that instead of engaging as Scripture invites,
“Come now, let us reason together,”
we retreat behind glowing screens.
We trade conversation for comment sections,
dialogue for digital duels.
We type faster than we pray,
and fight like keyboard warriors
instead of brothers and sisters seeking truth.

I’m concerned that we no longer measure core values, beliefs, and policy against principle,
but instead measure everything
by how much we dislike the face attached to it.

I’m concerned that in the midst of it all we overlook the silent cry of 70 to 90 million unborn babies,
as if their absence does not echo.

I’m concerned that in the midst of our fight to be seen and heard,
we are ignoring the mistreated children already among us.
And when we finally turn our attention toward them,
we soothe our guilt instead of shaping their character.
We appease rather than guide.
We give in to every desire,
because we fear we have already failed them.

I’m concerned that what Scripture speaks plainly about,
we now whisper about.
That what the Bible calls sin,
we are pressured to celebrate.
That in the name of compassion
we abandon conviction.

I’m concerned that our theology
is becoming reactionary instead of rooted.
That our allegiance to Christ
is bending under the weight of cultural winds.

I’m concerned.

But I am not despairing.

Because hope was never built on politicians, public figures, or even pastors.
Hope was never sustained by political parties, parishes, or public influencers.
Because when our faith is anchored in personalities,
it will sink with them.

Hope is anchored in Christ.
And when it is anchored in Christ,
it stands.

Empires rise and fall.
Leaders disappoint.
Movements fracture.
But the Word of God stands.

The Church has survived Rome.
It has survived corruption.
It has survived compromise.
And it will survive this moment too.

So yes, I’m concerned.

But I am also confident.
Confident that Truth does not tremble.
Confident that light still pierces darkness.
Confident that Christ is still on the throne.

Concerned, yes.
But anchored in hope.
